It didn’t matter what the subject was, she got straight A’s in all of them. I ran into her the other day. After catching up with our lives a bit, she told me she graduated as a teacher. To my surprise, her professional life had not been what everyone expected it would be. Actually, she had been struggling a lot. She had been working in several low paying jobs and wasn’t able to get a better one. What happened? Well, although school does indeed give us some basic understanding of many areas, it fails at the most important one of all…

To teach us the life skills that will make a difference in our lives. Things like negotiation, wisdom, power UP language, confidence building, empowerment, out of box thinking, the real divine truth, socialize to wealth, financial creation, personal finances, networking…

We never learned any of this at school…

Instead, we are asked to figure these things out by ourselves. What happens? Students come unprepared to the real world and fail in every possible way…

They struggle to get a job because they didn’t handle themselves properly at the job interview. They are paid less because they are clueless about how to negotiate our salaries. All because they didn’t learn the skills they needed to be successful in life. So, what can you do to never be in that position?  You should never stop educating yourself. 

Let me explain.

Going to school and getting an education are not the same thing. School ends when you graduate and get your degree. On the other hand, education should never stop. People who fail in life, do so because they stopped their education when they finished school. They didn’t continue learning new things. The ones who succeed are those that are always learning. They never stop educating themselves. Instead, they’re always exploring new ways to learn and apply that knowledge. Like Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin. Because he suffered from dyslexia, his academic performance was really bad, and had to drop out of high school. However, he was always educating himself and learning new things. Now, he’s worth over 4.5 billion dollars! All because he didn’t limit himself to what he learned at school. Now more than ever, educating yourself and learning relevant skills is more important than ever.
